While its great to see EA thinking about "Digital Engineering" its likely about 20 to 30 years late!

If the college structure of EA was set up more dynamically than just following 20th (19th?) century disciplines, then this may have been captured earlier.

I would contend that all engineers operate in the digital realm, but only some actually design the digital realm.  Where do these engineers belong?  Is it the ITEE college which seems to be a catch all for anything "new"?  Should we have a Software & Digital Engineering College (though most software engineers don't see value in EA membership because we as a profession have neglected them, so they've joined other bodies or don't have a professional home)

Where do the Mechatronics, Robotics and Process Control Engineers sit in this discussion given that they spend much of their time designing in the digital realm but are not necessarily just software or digital specialists?

I look forward to hearing about where this working group takes the discussion and how it proposes to change EA to recognise this space more fully.
