The GradHack Community is a space where you can connect with other Hackathon participants, form teams, ask questions and keep up to date with competition developments.

The EA Xchange platform is easy to use but here are some tips to get you started!

    Update your profile and signature:

Why? As you make connections, having a profile picture, bio, and job history available for reference is very helpful. It allows community members to learn a little more about you.

    How? Navigate to your Profile

Upload a Profile Picture: Click on 'Change Picture' -> Upload Picture and follow the prompts.

Add your Bio: Click on the 'ADD' icon and add your bio. Not sure what to say? We would suggest sharing highlights of your career journey so far, what projects you are currently focused on, and even mentioning a few things you enjoy doing outside of work.

Add your Job History: Click on the 'Add' icon under 'JOB HISTORY' and add your employment history.

Change your signature: Click the 'My Account' tab found in the navigation options under your name and select Discussion Signature. Edit your "default signature" to include your full name, job title, organisation and even team name!

    Start a discussion thread:

Why? Starting a discussion thread is a great way to network within the Hackathon Community. You could just introduce yourself to the community, ask participants a question or a question of the Hackathon organisers.

    How?

    1. Navigate to the "GradHack 2022 – National Graduate Hackathon Community" tab. You can use the search function in the top right of the screen to search for the community.
    2. Click on 'Post New Message'
    3. Add a 'Subject'
    4. Write your post in the content box
    5. You can add a file by clicking on the 'Attach' tab
    6. Click 'Send' and your post will be added to the 'Discussions' tab

    Update your notification email settings:

Why? There are several email notification options to stay up to date on all community activities. If you are a member of multiple communities here is where you can consolidate multiple digest notifications into one email.

    How?

    • Navigate to your Profile
    • Click the "My Account" tab found in the navigation options under your name and select Community Notifications
    • Adjust the settings to your preference:
      • Daily: Receive a daily email that summarizes the previous day's community activity (Recommended Setting)
      • Real Time: This option allows you to receive instantaneous community updates
      • No Email: As it states, you will no longer receive a digest
      • Consolidated Daily Digest: This feature allows you to consolidate the digests of your choice into one daily summary email
      • Consolidated Weekly Digest: Provides the ability to consolidate the digests of your choice into one digest that is sent once a week
        • To consolidate your digests, click the checkbox under your preferred Consolidated option
          • Note: You can adjust the day of the week you receive your consolidated digest by click that day option under Weekly Consolidated Community Digest towards the top of the Community Notifications page
    • Your selections will automatically save (refresh the screen to verify)
