Third-party works including developments usually have a requirement for connecting to the existing water network. Third-party works may also impact existing water infrastructure and/or land reserved for future expansion of the water network. Seqwater has a consent application process application and approval in place for managing these. Errol George from Seqwater will provide an overview of how these are assessed, and the impacts managed by having an asset management and protection plan in place. It is hoped that the audience will benefit from the seminar with a better understanding of the process and that the works can be carried out efficiently without causing any adverse impact on the water infrastructure and our service to the community.

In this presentation, you will learn:

  • Assessment of possible impacts on water infrastructure due to third-party works.
  • Management and asset protection plan for mitigating the impacts.
  • Consent application and approval process.
  • Implementation including operations, shutting down, and recovery of major assets.
  • Lessons learned.
