Dear QLD structural colleagues,

Certifiers have recently started asking to have MP1.4 referenced carte-blanche on the form 15 design certificate where a BOS application is sought.

Noting that there are only a few circumstance that actually require RPEQ certification in MP1.4 (search MP1.4 for RPEQ and it will be bridging beams etc.), I am wondering if this is a certifier duck shove, and needs pushing back. Simply referencing MP1.4 on the form 15/design certificate without justification or comment seems quite foolhardy. 

Can any other RPEQ structural engineers share their experience on this topic?

Ok, answering my own question.. 

The work around we adopted was to state on the form 15 the specific performance provisions of QDC MP1.4 which were complied with (i.e. P1), as well noting that referral was required.
