Two suggestions to consider
Under item 3 Assistive Technologies for Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
add "utilise emerging technologies including IoT, home automation, and smart home technology to integrate computer-based AT, and environmental control as well as ADL into the fabric of new build housing. Examples include KNX and ethernet networking trade-offs when considering Thread, Matter architecture. Innovative sensors in such as proximity wall switches that respond to gestures, movement detectors, and and then there's setting up all those purchases from JB hi-fi and Harvey Norman that respond to "Siri " or "Alexa " .
Not sure where it fits, but need to mention compliance with AS and ISO standards applicable to backup power supplies in disability, elderly, and "assisted living" (which is the defined term in Appendix M in AS 3000:2018). As well as providing advice regarding the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of backup power supplies for a range of "medical" equipment in a home environment.
(Just don't mention solar panels and solar batteries...)
And I'd really like Engineers Australia to challenge NDIA why Rehabilitation Engineers "lacks sufficient professional qualifications" to be SDA assessors.

Subject: Biomedical Community Consultation - Sector-Based Functions Overview (Biomedical)
Good Afternoon Allan,
Thank you for raising this back into discussion. The Sector-Based Functions Overview is scheduled for a review and update, just a matter of finding the time and contributors to undertake the work. The College is always happy to receive thoughts and comments regarding the document, when helpfully framed of course, and will seek to integrate these perspectives into subsequent its versions. The College also intends that members of the wider biomedical community will discuss this paper, it contents and its gaps with their networks, EA members and non-members alike, and that the insights of these discussion be forwarded to the College for consideration.
If anyone is feeling inspired to assist in the preparing the update, please flag your interest here, or feel free to reach out directly.
Kind regards,
Iain

Subject: Biomedical Community Consultation - Sector-Based Functions Overview (Biomedical)
The Biomedical College is seeking input into a draft overview document identifying sector-based functions in the Australian biomedical ecosystem. Contributions from biomedical engineers, technologists and associates, but also engineers, technologists and associates who do not identify as a biomedical engineer, biomedical technician or similar but practice in a biomedical, manufacturing, service, health, disability, sports environment etc. are all welcome.
We recognise that this draft paper does not currently accurately represent the complete diversity of biomedical engineering practice, and request a broader input from the biomedical community to finalise the document for publication.
Please send any input to [email protected]
